{"id":32,"date":"2009-07-08T15:39:43","date_gmt":"2009-07-08T22:39:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jonpardue.com\/blog\/?p=32"},"modified":"2009-07-08T16:27:30","modified_gmt":"2009-07-08T23:27:30","slug":"the-end-of-an-era","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jonpardue.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/08\/the-end-of-an-era\/","title":{"rendered":"The End of an Era"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it&#8217;s official.<\/p>\n<p>This morning I submitted my letter of resignation to the fine folks at the Sultan School District, bringing to a close my four years as Assistant Music Director.\u00a0 This is not a surprise to anyone involved, but it&#8217;s hard to believe the time has gone by so quickly.\u00a0 It&#8217;s been a wild ride.\u00a0 I am filled with a variety of emotions ranging from sadness to pride, but mostly gratitude for getting to be part of such an amazing program and anticipation for moving back to professional musicianship.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not completely gone, however.\u00a0 From here on out I will continue to be involved as another supportive member of the community:\u00a0writing the odd arrangement, sitting in the pit for the musical (if they&#8217;ll have me!),\u00a0continuing to run the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sultanmusicparents.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">parent group web site<\/a>,\u00a0and cheering from the stands.\u00a0 In the meantime, I&#8217;d like to thank the students, parents, staff, faculty, and especially my family and Jill Sumpter for being so supportive and encouraging these past four years.\u00a0 It feels like I have over 200 new nephews, nieces, and cousins now &#8212; good thing I don&#8217;t really have to remember all of their birthdays&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s wishing them all the best for the future of the program.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t be strangers!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it&#8217;s official.
