Miscellaneous Ramblings

These songs came into being while playing around with computer-based recording software and a MIDI keyboard. They represent ideas and grooves that are half-deliberate, half-channeled from somewhere, and not always finished...

Purdue Years

Nicholas C. Winter Jazz Ensemble

These demos were written by Jon when he was performing with the Nicholas C. Winter Jazz Ensemble and recorded live in the studio in Indianapolis in 1989. They are rather short because they were submitted to a songwriting contest in St. Louis that required submissions to be under three and a half minutes in length. Out of over 400 entries, Uncork placed in the top ten and Emotings IV placed in the top five. (Note: These MP3s were digitized from cassette, so are not of the best audio quality.)

Uncork (3:31, 3.22 MB)

Musicians: Roger Priest, sax; Tony Thomas, guitar; Jon Pardue, piano/keyboards; Lynn Caldwell, bass; Phil Brines, drums
